LSHRM 2014 Election. Get to know the Nominees!

President-Elect: Nicole Davies, SPHR

Nicole has been actively involved as an LSHRM volunteer for many years, serving in Chair and Board of Director roles since 2010.  Currently, Nicole is finishing up a two-year term as the LSHRM Director of Membership.  She is also actively involved with the National SHRM organization, participating on the Advocacy Team as a "go-to" resource for lawmakers on workforce-related issues in the states of Kentucky and Indiana.

Professionally, Nicole is an accomplished human resources specialist with more than sixteen years of strategic-level human resources, employee relations, training, and talent acquisition experience.  In addition to obtaining both a Master’s degree and her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, Nicole has managed the human resources needs of small, midsize and large organizations in both the union and the non-union environment. Currently, she is a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at ADP.  In that role, she serves as a human resources consultant for businesses in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.

Nicole’s reason for volunteering with LSHRM:
LSHRM is the best local resource available to HR professionals.  By providing a compelling professional development curriculum, not to mention wonderful networking opportunities and crucial community support, LSHRM collectively impacts those we serve in meaningful and effective ways.  I look forward to continuing LSHRM’s standard of excellence throughout my term in office.

VP, Finance: Wendi Tatum, M.Ed.

Wendi has been an LSHRM volunteer for a year and is currently the Finance Chair.

Professionally, Wendi has 10 years of experience in training and education, and is Education Services Manager at Kentucky Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company.  Wendi oversees the corporate training, learning management systems, and leadership development, along with continuing education programs. She is also responsible for disaster recovery/catastrophe planning and business continuity planning.

Wendi has a Master's Degree in Curriculum Design and Development  and is a Myer's Briggs Certified Instructor. Wendi is also working on her MBA at Bellarmine University and is expected to graduate in 2014.

Wendi’s reason for volunteering with LSHRM:

I believe in the power of building others up to pursue their dreams.  I like to help out locally within my profession and I feel that LSHRM makes a positive impact on the surrounding community.  I am blessed to be a part of this great organization.

Director, Marketing and Communications: Jeanne Ward, PHR

Jeanne has been a volunteer with LSHRM for three years, and has served as the Marketing Committee chair, and most recently as the Director of Marketing since 2012.

Professionally, Jeanne has been with the Oliver Group for six years, where she is the Marketing Communications Manager. Jeanne develops and implements marketing and communications strategies, which includes services beneficial to HR and organizational development leaders.  The Oliver Group partners with HR leaders to optimize organizational performance through employee assessments and leadership development training.

Jeanne’s reason for volunteering with LSHRM:
I joined LSHRM to network with people in HR and also to keep current with the industry while earning HRCI credits. I was invited to volunteer on the Marketing committee a couple years ago and took on more responsibility, eventually leading to the Director role that I’m in today. I've enjoyed working with everyone on the team. I also enjoy sharing all the fantastic things that LSHRM is doing to promote human resources as a profession and helping to make Louisville organizations great places to work!
