Strategic HR - The Normal Play Book Won’t Get You There Keynote
This session will identify the top six areas Human Resources needs to change in order to gain credibility and prevent eroding HR's effectiveness.  Learn what management (the customers) really wants from HR and how to astound them regarding what HR can bring to the table.  Look at contributing in several very different ways so HR is seen as a real asset to their organization.  Participants can become the future of HR by adjusting their current mindset and re-aligning all that they do in order to deliver what their organizations need today...and a decade from now.

Participants will:

  • Change their mind set about what initiatives HR should pursue;
  • Review business/organizational trends and statistics that underscore the need for a different type of HR in the future;
  • Focus on talent management and skill development;
  • Pursue initiatives that are specifically tailored for the long-term needs of their organizations;
  • Use benchmarking as a beginning to formulating strategy, not as a final work product;
  • Take risks; and
  • Really understand what it means to learn about the “business” of their organizations.

 Once Upon a Time - Using Story Telling to Build Core Values, Communicate Ethics, Inspire Teamwork and Develop Positive Culture! - Workshop
Since the beginning of time, human beings have employed story telling as a means to build a common sense of purpose among groups or communities as well as to illustrate complex concepts.  When it is done properly, this powerful management tool can be used to increase teamwork, to move groups in a specific direction or to make individuals resilient when the mission or task becomes difficult.  Learn how to use imagery to connect with employees and coworkers on a deeper, emotional level rather than just a conceptual one.  Mine the most powerful aspects of your organization’s culture or your management style in order to use it as a branding or marketing tool both internally and externally for your organization.

Participants learn to:
  • Develop and coach other employees with effective workplace feedback scenarios;
  • Stimulate creative business thinking using humor; Change the way they express themselves so that it dramatically improves employee engagement;
  • Assist employees in embracing change as well as understanding and accomplishing the business goals of the organization;
  • Build culture, core values and ethics by using true workplace stories; and  Recruit strategic talent needed in order to sustain future growth.
