Leadership Louisville - Application are open for the 35th class

Louisville, Kentucky (March 4, 2013) – Today marks the opening of applications for the 35th Anniversary Leadership Louisville Class.  Since 1979, Leadership Louisville has ensured that the community’s most influential and esteemed leaders are knowledgeable about issues, well networked and passionate about the success of the region.  Many of the most dynamic leaders from all fields apply each year for the 10-month experience and only about 55 are selected to build a class representative of the community.  Applications are open through April 26, 2013.  For more information, contact Jennifer Stevens at (502) 561-5231 or jstevens@leadershiplouisville.org.

“As the oldest leadership organization in Kentucky as well as the largest, we’ve graduated over 6,000 community leaders,” said Cynthia Knapek, president of the Leadership Louisville Center.  “The Leadership Louisville program is our signature program that inspires participants with a sense of ownership in a vibrant future for our region.  Now is the time for leaders to apply for the class and join some of our community’s most prominent trustees.”

About Leadership Louisville:
Leadership Louisville is a transformational experience for both the participants and the organization they serve.  Class members commit one day a month to exploring the community and discovering what makes it distinctive, including government, education, economic development, social services and the arts.  Throughout the 10-month program, participants go on exclusive tours and have hands-on experiences, all with area leaders who take on our community’s biggest challenges every day.  Armed with new knowledge, connections and perspectives, Leadership Louisville graduates are prepared to take their places as effective community leaders.  See a list of over 30 years of Leadership Louisville graduates.  Visit www.leadershiplouisville.org/leadership-louisville/ for more program details.

Quotes from Leadership Louisville graduates:
“Beyond a course, event or even an experience, Leadership Louisville created an ongoing momentum that has impacted my sense of connection in our city, changed the way I approach my role as a business owner and raised the awareness of my responsibility in Louisville.”   Mark Hogg, LL ’12, Founder and CEO of WaterStep
“Leadership Louisville helped me connect with other professionals in Louisville while exploring many ‘new to me’ aspects of the city. I gained new friends, new knowledge and a renewed sense of responsibility to make our community better.”  Elaine M Gravatte, LL ’12, Senior Vice President of Operations, D.D. Williamson

“Being new to the community, Leadership Louisville was a great way for me to get to know the region and build a larger network.  I took away better knowledge of Louisville’s strengths and the challenges we face, as well as optimism for our future because of the work my classmates are doing to make things even greater.” Tom Partridge, LL ’12, President & Chief Executive Office, Fifth Third Bank, Kentucky

About the Leadership Louisville Center:
