LSHRM Shred Event in May!

Do you have stacks of important documents at your home that you no longer need?  Old check stubs and bank reconciliations, old tax forms complete with all the backup information…and no place to get them shredded.  Now is your chance.

LSHRM is providing an opportunity for you to bring all of your old items that need to be shredded to the MAY LSHRM meeting at the University Club at U of L.  The A Paper Shredding Truck will be available from 10:30 – 12:30.

Paper, CDs, floppy disks are acceptable.  No problem with spiral bound items, file clasps, paper clips. You can bring your documents in any type of container (bag, box, etc.).  The cost to you will be a donation to the SHRM Foundation of $5.00 per box or bag (banker box size and garbage bag size).  Oversized boxes and bags will be priced at the time of shredding.

REMEMBER – this is a win/win…you get rid of these important documents that have been sitting around your house and SHRM foundation gets a donation.  We will be able to take cash – small bills only please or checks made out to LSHRM on site.  Receipts for your donations will be available.

Start now to gather up all your “shred able” items and bring them with you to the LSHRM meeting in May.

Description:

Walk, run or volunteer for fitness, peace and community in the second Ali Shuffle. The Muhammad Ali Institute is reaching out to people across the city with a unifying theme "Connecting Communities One Step at a Time." Participants will walk or run 10K from West Louisville to downtown.  Along the way they'll celebrate the neighborhoods they pass through and the life of Muhammad Ali. Ali made his professional mark in boxing and is leaving a personal legacy of peace building. The Ali Shuffle benefits the Muhammad Ali Scholars Program at UofL's Ali Institute for Peace and Justice. Ali Scholars are learning peace building techniques to apply at home and around the world.

We will need people at the registration table the morning of the event, the day before to pass out and put together bags, we will need people in the morning to do the food set-up,  man the water stations, be cheering along the route, and clean-up crews after the event is over.

Once registered to volunteer, please make sure to count your name for the Mayor's Give A Day week of service.
